Laundry

One side effect of the almost constant rain earlier this spring has been that I have not been able to hang out our laundry. However, earlier this week, it was a relatively nice day and it wasn’t raining, and we were able to head outside with our clean laundry! This is surely going to be the start of LOTS of laundry-hanging this season, since it’s already far too hot in the basement to be able to run the dryer except as we head to bed.

There’s something I really enjoy about hanging laundry. I don’t know if it’s just the sheer simplicity of drying our clothes in the sun and fresh air, or if it’s the feeling of resourcefulness, or what. It’s just very enjoyable.

  1. There is nothing more beautiful to me than a line full of diapers flappin in the breeze. Since we currently live in hot sticky florida, they don’t get super dry super quickly and sometimes we have to finish our clothes in the dryer, but still 🙂 It is beautiful to see 🙂

Well, if I’m honest with myself, one of the reasons that I find the mountains of Utah so appealing as a potential new home is that laundry hung outside dries in about 10 seconds. Around here, it takes all day for laundry. Diapers dried usually in a full day, as well.

Hanging laundry is totally the only “me” tome I get these days. Its like therapy.
